For a problem solved with equations, verify the boundary or initial conditions were stated and applied correctly. A governing equation has many solutions; the physical answer is picked out by these conditions, and getting them wrong yields a valid-looking but incorrect result. Confirm the conditions match the actual physical setup and were used to determine any constants, and flag any solution presented without checking that it satisfies the conditions the problem imposes.
