Generate a complete D&D edition adventure module, approximately 20 pages when formatted, in the style of a multi-session escort mission with escalating mystery and a devastating twist, structured across 8 sessions with the following sections:

KEY NPCs:
- Lord Valerius Thornweave: Wealthy noble who hired the party. Smooth-talking, generous, but nervous about his daughter. Secretly knows she is an assassin and hired the party as a sacrificial cover. He fears for her safety but also wants the marriage to succeed for political gain.
- Lady Elara Thornweave: The noble's daughter, the escort's charge. Appears charming, sweet, and well-educated in etiquette. In reality, she is a trained assassin from the Shadow Veil guild. She was sent to assassinate the groom but has developed genuine doubts. She carries poisoned blades, a mask, and a list of targets.
- Captain Marcus Hale: The royal guard leader hired by Lord Thornweave to escort the party. Loyal, skilled, and the real assassin. He has been committing the murders in each town to discredit the party and frame Lady Elara. He is secretly working for the groom's rival faction.
- Seraphina Voss: A traveling bard/mystic who accompanies the party for 2 sessions. She notices the pattern of murders before anyone else and hints at an assassin's guild. She may be genuinely helpful or may be manipulating events herself.
- Prince Aldric of House Morvayne: The groom-to-be. Charming, intelligent, but politically calculating. He suspects something is wrong with the arrangement but needs the marriage alliance.
- Magistrate Doren: The corrupt official in [TOWN 3]. He is being bribed by Captain Hale to frame the party.

SESSION 1-2: THE HIRE AND THE ROAD (Introduction)
- The party is hired in a bustling city by Lord Valerius Thornweave to escort his daughter, Lady Elara Thornweave, across 6-8 leagues to the capital of a neighboring kingdom for her betrothal to Prince Aldric of House Morvayne
- The journey takes 6-8 days through 4-5 towns
- Lady Elara is charming, well-mannered, and seems genuinely grateful
- The noble's letter of passage and Captain Marcus Hale's retinue of 2 guards accompany them
- Session 1: The hire, preparation, first night in [TOWN 1] (Oakhaven). A merchant named Silas Bramble is found dead in the tavern's cellar, apparently murdered. The party investigates briefly before moving on
- Session 2: Travel to [TOWN 2] (Riverton), stay at the inn called The Gilded Tankard. A local magistrate named Doren is discovered stabbed in his study. The party notices something odd about Lady Elara's behavior — she was "sleeping" the entire time, or she knows too much about the murder weapon
- **Cliffhanger for Session 2**: As the party packs to leave, they find a note slipped under Lady Elara's door — a warning, or perhaps a threat. The note reads: "She is not who you think. Trust no one."

SESSION 3-4: ESCALATING HORROR (Rising Tension)
- [TOWN 3] (Blackwood): A gruesome murder — the entire Miller family is slaughtered in their home. The party arrives to find the scene and the town's guards are hostile, accusing the party of being responsible
- The party has evidence they didn't do it, but they can't prove it. Lady Elara seems nervous but claims ignorance
- Travel to [TOWN 4] (Stonebridge): Another murder, even worse. The town's militia is ready to attack the party on sight
- **The clues accumulate**: Lady Elara's travel bag has bloodstains she claims are from a nosebleed. She knows the murder weapons before they're found. She seems to anticipate where the next murder will happen. Seraphina Voss tells the party a story about an assassin's guild active in the region
- A traveling scholar named Professor Aldous discovers that the murder weapons are all identical — a rare dagger style used only by one guild in the known world
- **Cliffhanger for Session 4**: The party discovers a hidden compartment in Lady Elara's luggage containing assassin's tools — poisoned blades, a mask, a list of names (including their own and Prince Aldric's). But Captain Hale is standing behind them

SESSION 5-6: THE TRUTH UNFOLDS (Rising Tension)
- The party confronts Lady Elara. She is cornered and must either flee, fight, or confess
- If they fight: She is surprisingly skilled, but ultimately overpowered or escapes. She reveals her identity as a trained assassin from the Shadow Veil guild, but insists the murders are NOT hers
- If she confesses: She explains she was sent to assassinate the groom, but something has changed. She has been having second thoughts, or perhaps the murders were not her doing — someone else is framing her
- **The real villain is revealed**: Captain Marcus Hale is the assassin. Lady Elara was unaware, and the guard has been committing the murders to discredit the party and make it look like Lady Elara is unstable. He is secretly working for Prince Aldric's rival faction
- Hale may still be with the party and may be listening. A confrontation or chase ensues. If the party doesn't suspect him yet, he may attempt to eliminate them
- **Cliffhanger for Session 6**: Lord Thornweave sends a messenger revealing that he knew Elara was an assassin and hired the party as a "disposable shield." The party has been played from the start

SESSION 7-8: THE DILEMMA AND THE CHOICE (Culmination)
- The party must decide: turn Lady Elara in (she's innocent of the murders but may be dangerous), let her go (and risk her future actions), or kill her (ending the threat permanently)
- Prince Aldric's capital is near. The party arrives with a choice to make
- If they deliver Elara: The wedding goes ahead, but Elara may still be a danger. Prince Aldric learns the truth and must decide whether to proceed
- If they expose Captain Hale: Lord Thornweave's reputation is destroyed, Hale is captured or escapes (he may have a backup plan), and the political marriage is called off
- **Final choice**: What does the party do with Lady Elara at the climax? Each choice has consequences for future sessions and the political landscape
- Session 8: The final confrontation. Captain Hale reveals his full plan — he intends to assassinate Prince Aldric himself and frame Lady Elara, causing a war between the kingdoms. The party must stop him. The resolution depends on the party's choices throughout the adventure

STAT BLOCKS (2-3 pages)
- 15+ stat blocks: Lord Thornweave, Lady Elara (assassin, CR appropriate to party level), Captain Marcus Hale (elite warrior/assassin), the 2 royal guards, townsfolk, guards in various towns, a bard (Seraphina Voss), Prince Aldric's bodyguards, a few unique monsters encountered on the road, a corrupted mage who aids Hale

DM GUIDANCE (1-2 pages)
- Pacing advice: build suspicion gradually, let the players discover clues at their own pace. Do not force the reveal — let the players find the evidence
- How to handle player choices: be flexible, let the story adapt to their decisions. If the party kills Elara, explore the aftermath. If they let her go, show her future actions
- Sequel hooks: the assassin's guild (Shadow Veil), Lord Thornweave's true motives, Lady Elara's future, the political war that Hale started
- The moral dilemma: Lady Elara may be dangerous, but she is also a victim of her guild's indoctrination. She may be capable of change. The party should never have an easy answer
