When a matter touches more than one jurisdiction, verify that which jurisdiction's law governs was addressed, not assumed. A contract performed across state lines, a tort with multi-state contacts, or parties in different countries can raise a choice-of-law question whose answer changes the outcome. Confirm the analysis identifies the choice-of-law issue and any governing clause, and flag any multi-jurisdiction matter that simply applied one jurisdiction's law without asking whether it controls.
