- One-sentence DM hook
- Summary: a once-great city lies in ruins, its fallen walls hiding treasures, monsters, and mysteries. Various factions seek to control or plunder it
- The city's fall: what destroyed it and what now inhabits the ruins

2. THE OUTSIDE WORLD (1-2 pages)
- The nearest civilization to the ruins
- 4-5 locations and NPCs: leader, scout, merchant, scholar
- Factions competing for the city
- The city's geography and approach

3. THE RUINS -- OUTER WALLS (1-2 pages)
- Outer walls, gates, and first districts
- 2-3 encounter areas
- Environmental hazards: unstable structures, collapsing walls, traps
- Treasure: ruins salvage, broken weapons, hidden caches

4. THE CITY INTERIOR -- UPPER DISTRICTS (2-3 pages)
- Better-preserved upper districts: palaces, temples, noble mansions
- 3-4 distinct areas with:
  - Area name and description
  - Inhabitants: monsters, surviving NPCs, faction members
  - Puzzle or challenge related to the city's history
  - Treasure and lore about the city's golden age

5. THE CITY INTERIOR -- LOWER DISTRICTS (2-3 pages)
- Slums, market district, underground levels
- 3-4 distinct areas
- Deeper secrets about why the city truly fell
- A major monster lord or faction leader

6. THE HEART OF THE CITY (1-2 pages)
- The throne room, great temple, or central power source
- The final boss and what they want
- The city's ultimate treasure or curse

7. STAT BLOCKS (1-2 pages)
- 12+ stat blocks for wide variety of inhabitants

8. DM GUIDANCE (1 page)
- Running a multi-zone ruins adventure
- Sequel hooks
