Interpret the regression output in {regression_output} correctly, resisting the standard misreadings. (1) State the model form and what was actually estimated, then read each coefficient with the full conditional clause: it's the expected change in the outcome per unit change in that predictor holding the other included predictors constant — the "holding constant" caveat is load-bearing and omitting it produces false claims. (2) Distinguish statistical significance from practical magnitude: a tiny p-value on a trivially small coefficient means precisely estimated irrelevance, and a large coefficient with a wide confidence interval means an important-but-uncertain effect. Report both. (3) Check the assumptions the interpretation relies on: linearity, residual behavior, and whether influential points drive the result. (4) Refuse the causal leap unless the design earns it — regression coefficients are associations; omitted variables, reverse causation, and collider adjustment all masquerade as effects. (5) Watch multicollinearity: unstable, sign-flipped coefficients among correlated predictors are not individually interpretable. (6) State what the model does and does not license concluding, and translate the key coefficient into a concrete, units-attached statement a non-statistician could act on.
