- Title (create an evocative name for an adventure race)

- One-sentence DM hook
- Summary: the PCs race against rivals or time through a dangerous course of challenges, obstacles, and enemies to reach a goal
- The race's purpose and what the winner receives

2. THE STARTING AREA (1-2 pages)
- Where the race begins
- 4-5 locations: registration tent, start line, waiting area, equipment shop
- 4-5 NPCs: race organizer, rival racer, equipment merchant, medic
- The race's rules and stakes

3. THE COURSE -- SECTION 1 (1-2 pages)
- The first part of the race course
- 2-3 obstacle/challenge areas
- Rival racers as obstacles
- Environmental hazards

4. THE COURSE -- SECTION 2 (2-3 pages)
- The middle of the race
- 2-3 harder obstacle areas
- The course's most dangerous challenge
- Shortcuts that are risky

5. THE FINISH LINE (2-3 pages)
- The final section of the course
- The ultimate obstacle
- The prize and its consequences
- The race's true purpose revealed

6. STAT BLOCKS (1-2 pages)
- 10-12 stat blocks for rivals, course hazards, the master of the race

7. DM GUIDANCE (1 page)
- Running a competitive, fast-paced adventure
- Sequel hooks
