Verify a projection's conclusion isn't quietly assumed in its inputs. When the target return, valuation, or growth is baked into the assumptions that then "produce" it, the model only confirms what it was told — a common way business cases justify a predetermined answer. Confirm the key inputs were set independently of the desired result, and flag any model whose output is really just its assumption restated.
